I am sure that this message will come as a great surprise, as when I left ‘La Dolce Vita Restaurant’ after 25 years, I was committed to change my job to anything but catering. Now I have to admit that I felt a great loss not being able to manage a kitchen which seems to be something I was born with.
On the 8th of January 2009, I launched a new restaurant namely ‘Riviera Della Marina’ which is situated at the Vittoriosa Marina in Birgu. The location is unique as it brings a wealth of history with the surrounding fortifications as well as a very rich setting due to the berthing of several super yachts amongst others. Being a pedestrian area, dining outdoors is of utmost pleasure as one can enjoy the beautiful weather with the least inconvenience. The dining room has already proved to be an ideal intimate dining place, where one enjoys the rustic restoration and a candle light atmosphere.
The kitchen specialises in fish and seafood products as we felt that the location deserves a restaurant with such a theme. Our pasta chef is specialised in this area and apart from preparing his own fresh pasta he is always engaged to introduce fresh ideas in this part of the menu. Other dishes which are mainly selected fresh meats are always available. The wine list has been very carefully compiled by specialists in this field who have twinned wines for every dish we offer. Our waiting staff is well trained to propose the best wines to go with the dish accordingly.
Our main target markets are the corporate and group markets but we are also very dedicated to the individual diner alike. The purpose of this message is to personally invite you to come over and try the food, experience the atmosphere, and to feel pampered by our most caring staff.
